New Orleans Saints Betting Preview
The Saints come into this Week 7 game 3-2 overall and sitting second in the NFC South behind the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. New Orleans had a bye week and Coach Peyton should have them well prepared to face this banged up Seahawks team.
Jameis Winston in his last game against Washington ate the W, getting the 33-22 win where he put up 4 touchdown, but only threw at a 50% completion rate.
The Saints are last in the league when it comes to team passing play percentage and expect that to continue when they go up against this Seattle rush defense who are the third worst in the league.
The Seahawks give up an average of 140.8 rushing yards per game, so expect Alvin Kamara to have a big game and at least a touchdown, and you might even see Winston put up over 20 rushing yards.
On the road so far this 2021 season, New Orleans has the tenth best offense in the league that scores an average of 25.4 points per game and have the third best defense that’s only giving up an average of 16 points per game.
New Orleans is 15-3 straight up in their last 18 games on the road and 8-4 against the spread in their last 12 games against an opponent in the NFC West.
Seattle Seahawks Betting Preview
The Seattle Seahawks come into this Week 7 game in bad shape. They sit 2-4 overall and now 4 games behind Arizona for that top spot in the NFC West. They have quarterback Russell Wilson and running back Chris Carson both on injury reserve and will have to rely on backup quarterback Geno Smith to lead the team.
Geno fumbled the ball and cost them the overtime win last week against the Steelers. I’m really not a huge fan of Geno Smith, but if there’s any game that he needs to have a big performance it’s this one.
The Saints defense won’t put too much pressure on him and they’ll see if he can’t beat them in the air. Geno will most likely continue making costly turnovers, so if you want to lay the juice on a prop bet, then I would take Geno Smith to throw an interception in this game.
The good news for the Seahawks is that running back Alex Collins, who had 101 yards on the ground last week and got a little banged up, was back at Saturday’s practice and will be active for this matchup. Also, running back Rashaad Penny will return from injured reserve and expect to see him to play a bigger role this Monday.
The Seahawks offense when playing at home this season is in the middle of the pack, putting up an average of 23.5 points per game. Seattle’s defense at home has been subpar, giving up an average of 29.5 points per game.
The Seahawks are 1-4 against the spread in their last 5 games against an opponent in the NFC and the total has gone under in 4 of Seattle’s last 6 games this season.
