Tennessee Titans:
The Titans closed out last season with the fourth best offense in the league, scoring an average of almost 30 points per game, but their defensive squad struggled all season and gave up an average of 27 points per game.
The Titans front office wasn’t messing around this offseason and you can tell they are hungry to get to the Super Bowl. They added talent on the offensive roster with Dez Fitzpatrick and Marcus Johnson.
On defense they drafted Caleb Farley and Monty Rice. You can’t forget about their biggest offseason acquisition, Julio Jones. The Julio Jones and AJ Brown duo could be one of the best in the NFL this season. If they both can stay healthy, it will give most defenses nightmares. You most likely won’t see either of them play any drives in this opener, and also won’t see Ryan Tannehill or Derrik Henry.
All eyes will be on the battle for the backup quarterback job between Logan Woodside and Matt Barkley.
Atlanta Falcons:
Former Tennessee Titans Offensive Coordinator Arthur Smith will make his debut as the new Falcons head coach, but the fans will have their eyes glued on one of the most hyped draft picks this offseason, tight end Kyle Pitts. Unfortunately, you won’t get to see Matt Ryan throw to him, since Quarterbacks AJ McCarron, Feleipe Franks will likely to split this Falcons’ opener.
For the backfield, you’ll have starting running back Mike Davis sit, but Hawkins, Foreman, and Patterson will battle it out to see who will be the number 2 guy. That trifecta in the backfield should have no problem putting up rushing yards against this Tennessee Titans defense.
