Nets vs Hawks Betting Preview
This game will tipoff Friday, December 10, 2021 at 7:30pm et at the State Farm Arena in Atlanta. The NBA odds currently have the Hawks listed as a -1 point favorite against the spread, -115 on the moneyline, and the over/under is at 223 total points.
The Brooklyn Nets enter this game at the top of the Eastern Conference at 17-8 overall, but just 9-15-1 against the spread this season.
On the other side of the court, the Atlanta Hawks enter this game in the eighth spot in the Eastern Conference at 13-12 overall and 11-14 against the spread this season.
The Hawks are only 5-11 over this season against opponents with a winning record.
These two teams faced each other five weeks ago where the Nets as a -4.5 home favorite got the 117-108 win. In that matchup, Kevin Durant led the team with 32 points and Joe Harris dropped 18 points, but you won’t see Harris on the floor tonight because of that injured ankle.
For the Hawks in that last game against the Nets, De’Andre Hunter led the team scoring 26 points, but he’ll also be out because of that injured wrist. On Wednesday, Solomon Hill tore his hamstring, so he’ll be done for the season. and with Hill out, you’ll see Gallinari get even more minutes.
The Hawks still have Trae Young, who’s averaging 26.3 points and 9.4 assists per game this season, so even with all the injuries and them being shorthanded, you can’t count them out in any game.
For Brooklyn, Kevin Durant was given a rest day against the Rockets on Wednesday Night and they ended up losing to Houston 114-104. On Thursday Night, Durant was doing media and catching passes with Eli Manning, but he’s expected to be in the lineup.
Reports say that James Harden might not play, but right now he’s got a player prop out with him scoring over/under the 22.5 points, so his status is still up in the air. Our prop for this game is going to be only a small 1-unit move on Kevin Huerter to score over 12.5 total points at the -120 price.
