Cowboys Betting Preview
The good news for the Dallas Cowboys is that Quarterback Dak Prescott was a full participant in practice this week and was cleared to play for this Week 1 game.
The bad news is that he hasn’t played a single snap in preseason and he’ll have to this Buccaneers defense. Tampa Bay was able to bring back every starter from last years Super Bowl team and they can play both the run and pass at a top level.
Prescott will face this Bucs defense who love to pressure the quarterback via the blitz. With the whole squad back and healthy, they can even be better, so it’s going to be interesting to watch how Dak will be able to hold up in his first game back from injury.
The Cowboys will need huge performances for their top players like running back Ezekiel Elliott plus their big three wide receivers, Amari Cooper, Michael Gallup and CeeDee Lamb to pull off an upset.
Most Dallas fans should be excited to see the debut of their rookie linebacker Micah Parsons who’s currently the favorite to win the defensive rookie of the year award at +550.
Last season the Cowboys scored an average of 24.7 points per game, but had one of the worst defenses in the entire league that gave up an average of 29.6 points per game.
Dallas is 1-4 against the spread in their last 5 games played in September and 2-9 straight up in their last 11 games on the road.

Running backs Leonard Fournette and Ronald Jones should be able to put up big numbers in this matchup since the Cowboys gave up 158.8 rushing yards allowed per game last season, which was the second worst in the league.
The Buccaneers in 2020 had the second best offense in the league putting up an average of 30.8 points per game and had the seventh best defense that only gave up an average of 21.6 points per game.
