The sports betting preview on this Friday Night College Football Game between Syracuse vs Louisville set to kickoff on November 20th at 7pm et at Cardinal Stadium in Louisville, Kentucky. The college football odds have Louisville listed as -19 point favorites and the over/under currently at 56 total points. 70 percent of the betting public have their money behind Syracuse as double digit road underdogs.
These two teams met last November where Louisville was a touchdown home favorite going in, but ended up winning by 22 points in a 56-34 victory. The Cardinals quarterback Malik Cunningham had only 11 completions for an impressive 238 total yards and 5 touchdowns. The x-factor in that game was Javian Hawkins who had 23 carries for 233 yards and a touchdown, but early this week he announced that he will be opting out and will no longer be on the team and that’ll he’ll be entering the NFL draft. You can’t really blame him for this, he’s a long guy looking out for his future, but this is a huge blow for a Louisville team who is 2-6 overall this season and in desperate need of a win. The good news is that the Cardinals running back Hassan Hall will be back in the rotation and take over most of the carries after missing the previous three games. He’ll have help in the backfield from both Jalen Mitchell and Maurice Burkley.
Louisville is in the middle of the pack on offense, scoring an average of 27.9 points per game, but at home that number takes a significant jump to an average of 38 points per game. Expect Louisville to drop around 40+ points in this game going up against this Syracuse defense that gives up an average of 31 points per game. Louisville is 1-6 straight up in their last 7 games and the total has gone over in 4 of the Cardinals last 5 games against Syracuse.
Syracuse comes into this game having a terrible season at 1-6 overall and really no hope if you look at their remaining two games against NC State and Notre Dame. Syracuse has one the worst scoring offenses in the nation which includes both their rushing offense and passing offense. Their only bright spot the remainder of the 2020 season will be watching how their freshman quarterback JaCobian Morgan improves his play. Last week in his first career start against Boston College, he went 19 of 30 completions for 188 yards with one touchdown and one interception. Morgan has been thrown to the wolves, but maybe he’ll be able to save the team mindset from giving up on these last 3 games.
Syracuse is 4-2 against the spread in their last 6 games against an opponent in the ACC and the total has gone over in 5 of the Oranges’ last 6 games played in November.
Our numbers show the best opportunity to make money on this Friday Night College Football game between Syracuse vs Louisville is to roll with Louisville in the first quarter -6.5 at the -125 price.
