Free MLB Picks: Twins@ Angels; 10:35 PM

Though the top starting order of the Los Angeles Angels' rotation has been very good recently, manager Mike Scioscia is genuinely concerned with the overall depth of the order while moving forward. Fortunately, the return of Tommy Hanson back for Tuesday night's contest could provide some help to the Angels. Over his last four starts, C.J. Wilson permitted a pair of earned runs and Jered Weaver has been victorious in three out of his last four outings, but Jerome Williams has posted an ERA of 14.54 over his last four starts. Joe Blanton has offered his major league-worst performance on the 13th defeat in Monday's 4-3 loss to the Twins. Hanson who is at 4-2 with an ERA of 5.10 hasn't been able to pitch since he gave up seven runs in just two innings with the Angels' 10-9 win over Seattle on June 20. He was continually scratched from the next start before he was declared disable with a right forearm strain.

Baseball predictions expert reports that the right-hander has come back to the team in a right time and it should be a major advantage for an Angels rotation that is still missing Jason Vargas. Vargas is out since mid-June with a blood clot in his left armpit. Scioscia also informed that Hanson may have a pitch count on Tuesday night. Josh Hamilton is out with a stiff right ankle and it is unclear whether he would play in Tuesday’s game after he was scratched for Monday's contest. The Angels (46-51) will probably use everything that helps the offensive strategy having averaged 2.1 runs while dropping five out f the last seven games. Albert Pujols had gone 0 for 4 for the second consecutive game and is now hitting an average of just .249 on the season. Minnesota (42-54) ha sbeen superb, it began the seven-game trip with the fifth victory in six tries. Joe Mauer had offered three hits and is now batting at an average of .459 over his last set of 10 games. Clete Thomas had hit a solo homer and an RBI double before making Chris Iannetta miss a potential three-run home run in the bottom of the eighth inning that would have offered Los Angeles a clear lead.

Free MLB weekly picks insider informs that the starting rotation of the Twins, though, ranks at the last in the MLB with a 5.19 ERA. This is something which may excite rookie right-hander Kyle Gibson to improve. Gibson  who is at 2-2 with an ERA of 6.45 allowed three runs and walked four over five innings in another tilted outing, but by then, the offense had provided enough cushion for a 10-4 win over the New York Yankees on July 14. "We'd like to see him attack the zone a lot more," manager Ron Gardenhire told the team's official website. "He just kind of picked a little too much for our liking. The game was slow-paced, and he knows that. He's got to do a little better." Minnesota had dropped five consecutive games on road meetings with the Angels prior to Monday's win.
